21 September 2025 – Yemen
On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, Al-Amal Women’s and Socio-Cultural Foundation, together with the Justice4Yemen Pact Coalition, have called on all conflict parties in Yemen to silence their guns for at least 24 hours. The two entities stress that Yemenis deserve a dignified life and prosperity like other peoples in the region and that dialogue remains the true gateway to peace.

The joint appeal highlights that after more than a decade of war, Yemen faces an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe: devastated infrastructure, food insecurity, economic instability, and millions of children out of school. War profiteering, arbitrary arrests, and enforced disappearances continue to erode public trust and deepen suffering.

Al-Amal Foundation and the Justice4Yemen Pact Coalition reiterate that true peace cannot be achieved without justice, accountability, and the integration of transitional justice into any future political process. They also urge the international community to intensify its efforts to end the war, protect civilians and humanitarian workers, and uphold public freedoms and press freedom as essential pillars of any sustainable peace.

By linking the International Day of Peace with the start of the new school year, the two entities emphasize that respecting life and ending violence begins with education — Yemen’s children must be placed above all political interests.
